Why Choose Total C?

TOTAL C has added Bio-Perine and DHQ and D -ribose to make it a one of a kind unique blend on the market.  It is free of additives and excipients. This unique mix of powder vitamin C is gentler on the stomach. Vegan and vegetarian-friendly, gluten-free, unflavoured.

The advantage of a nutraceutical like Total C compared to a standard vitamin C product lies in its unique formula of high-quality ingredients that have been specifically chosen to optimise the absorption and bioavailability of vitamin C.

The synergistic actions of the nutrients within Total C offer a bioavailability that far exceeds the absorption limitations of other traditional vitamin C capsules or tablets. The result is dramatically intensified nutritional support with the added advantage of antioxidant protection.

Ribose (d-ribose) is a naturally occurring simple sugar, (a 5-carbon carbohydrate) found in human cells and particularly in the mitochondria, where it is a component for the production of ATP which supplies energy to the cells.

Bioperine: a patented black pepper extract may help to support the absorption of vitamin C

DHQuercetin is a flavonoid widely found in fruits and vegetables, which complements the actions of vitamin C.

Ascorbic acid or vitamin C contributes to the formation of collagen, a protein that is integral to the complex structures that form part of the body.

The connective tissues that make up your skin, bones, teeth and gums are dependent on the continuous production of collagen, which becomes rapidly depleted without adequate dietary supplies of vitamin C.

Vitamin C is also a nutrient with antioxidant properties that have increasingly diverse uses in the maintenance of good health. Numerous clinical, experimental and population studies have identified the importance of vitamin C crediting it for:

  • Supporting normal immune function
  • Contributing to normal energy metabolism
  • Helping to reduce tiredness and fatigue
  • Helping to support normal psychological function
  • Contributing to the protection of cells from oxidative stress
  • Contributing to the function of a normal nervous system

Hardly surprising then that the recommended daily allowance for vitamin C is higher than any other water-soluble vitamin, and since the human body cannot synthesise vitamin C at all, it must be supplemented mainly through fruits, vegetables and alternatively via nutritional supplements.

Gaining adequate vitamin C levels can be hindered by poor dietary choices, intensively farmed foods, poor quality supplements and the state of an individual’s health at the time.

What’s more, the amount of vitamin C the body can store is limited by absorption issues, so it is vital that the vitamin C you do consume is of good quality and in a highly absorbable form to maximise what your body can hold on to.

What’s more, there are a number of other factors that drive up the need for increased consumption of vitamin C:

  • Ageing - Vitamin C stores decline with age
  • Smoking - The toxic effects of tobacco on the body mean that vitamin C is utilised more readily by smokers. Studies consistently show that smokers have lower blood levels of Vitamin C than non-smokers.5
  • Alcohol - Chronic alcohol consumption interferes with the absorption of vitamin C.4
  • Viral illnesses - Increase the body’s utilization of vitamin C, rapidly depleting the body’s stores.
  • Chronic malabsorption issues - Some medical conditions such as Crohn’s disease can reduce the absorption of vitamin C as well as increase the amount needed by the body

The advantage of a nutraceutical like Total C compared to a standard vitamin C product lies in its unique formula of high-quality ingredients that have been specifically chosen to optimise the absorption and bioavailability of vitamin C.

The synergistic actions of the nutrients within Total C offer a bioavailability that far exceeds the absorption limitations of other vitamin C products. The end result is dramatically intensified nutritional support with the added advantage of antioxidant protection.
